Strategic Commercial Role | Property Development & Investment

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Directors, you will oversee the financial management of a complex group of entities while providing commercial insight across acquisitions, developments, investments, leasing and joint ventures.

This role extends well beyond traditional accounting. You will be expected to understand the commercial drivers of the business, challenge assumptions, model opportunities and provide sound financial advice that supports informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

•  Manage the accounting and financial reporting for multiple SPVs and associated entities.
• Oversee all statutory reporting, including BAS, IAS and year-end financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and treasury across the group.
• Maintain strong financial controls and reporting systems.
• Review, optimise and continually improve the company's QuickBooks environment and accounting processes.

Commercial Business Partnering·      

• Provide strategic financial advice to support business growth.
• Prepare financial modelling and feasibility analysis for development opportunities and acquisitions.
• Evaluate investment opportunities through scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
• Support commercial lease negotiations by providing financial analysis, modelling leasing structures, incentives and commercial outcomes.
• Assist with taxation planning and work collaboratively with external tax advisers.
• Provide financial oversight and reporting for joint venture projects.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to maximise business performance.

Strategy & Execution

While this is a highly strategic role, it is equally important that you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function. This is a standalone finance role, so success will come for someone who is comfortable moving seamlessly between high-level commercial advice and practical financial administration.

• Prepare and process a small payroll.
• Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable.
• Manage accounts receivable and banking as required.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations.
• Complete month-end processes and routine financial administration.
• Balance strategic commercial support with the discipline of ensuring the finance function runs smoothly every day.

You will thrive in this role if you enjoy being the person who can discuss the financial viability of a multi-million dollar development in the morning and then ensure payroll, invoices and reconciliations are completed accurately in the afternoon. The Directors are looking for someone who takes pride in both the strategic and operational aspects of finance.

About You

Key Selection Criteria:

• CPA or CA qualification
• Extensive experience in a senior finance role
• Strong knowledge of trust accounting and multi-entity group structures
• Excellent commercial acumen and business judgement
• Advanced financial modelling and forecasting skills
• Experience evaluating investments and development opportunities
• Strong understanding of taxation principles and business structures
• Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through clear financial analysis
• Experience improving accounting systems and financial processes
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with senior decision-makers

Experience within property development, commercial property, property investment or construction is not essential but will be highly regarded.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join their team. Working closely with Sales, Production, Warehouse, Logistics and Finance, this role will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end customer order process while delivering timely, accurate and professional service to both internal and external customers.

Working across order processing, customer enquiries, delivery coordination and sales administration, you will ensure customer and order information is accurately maintained, orders progress smoothly from receipt through to dispatch, and any issues are resolved efficiently to support strong delivery performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Outcomes of the Role

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ORDER MANAGEMENT
 

• Receive customer orders and enter them accurately into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in accordance with approved policy and procedures
• Obtain and confirm all required specifications for custom-made orders before entering or releasing the order
• Monitor the order bank and order status each business day, proactively communicating changes that may affect confirmed delivery dates
• Follow up on back orders and out-of-stock products and communicate updates to customers and Sales
• Receive, record, resolve, or escalate customer complaints in accordance with company procedures
• Record details of unanswered calls and ensure messages are distributed promptly

SALES AND CRM SUPPORT
 

• Maintain accurate customer and activity records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• When required, provide backup support to the Sales team by assisting with pricing enquiries and preparing quotations for standard and made-to-measure products
• When required, provide customers with relevant product and service information, including features and benefits, when supporting sales enquiries

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COORDINATION AND DISPATCH PLANNING
 

• Coordinate with customers, Sales and Production teams to resolve order discrepancies and confirm information required for accurate order processing
• Prepare and communicate the daily warehouse priority list, identifying orders that must be packed and dispatched within the next 48 hours
• Work with Warehouse, Logistics and Finance to resolve order, dispatch, delivery, invoicing, or account-status issues

BUSINESS SYSTEMS, DATA, AND REPORTING

• Maintain accurate, complete and current information in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Investigate data or process variances, document the cause, and coordinate corrective action with the appropriate parties
• Prepare agreed customer service and order status reports

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

• Maintain current knowledge of the company’s products, services, and relevant workplace practices.
• Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, workplace health and safety requirements, privacy and confidentiality obligations, and applicable laws and professional standards.

About You

You are someone who:

• Has at least one year of experience in customer service, sales administration, order processing, or a comparable operational support role
• Has sound Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Microsoft Excel capability
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in data entry
• Has excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, and effectively meet deadlines
• Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy
• Has clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Is reliable, punctual and comfortable working on-site full-time
