We’re looking for an Insectary Grounds Keeper to join Australia’s leading provider of beneficial insect and integrated pest management solutions About the Opportunity As Insectary Grounds Keeper, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and maintenance of the greenhouse, nursery and grounds. Reporting to the Greenhouse Manager, you will be responsible for watering, feeding and monitoring organisms, as well as harvesting stock on a regular basis. Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): - Daily operational & maintenance duties in the Greenhouse/Nursery/Grounds
- Water, feed and regularly check cultures in area of responsibility.
- Harvest organisms on a regular basis.
- Help with weekly packaging and distribution of orders when required
- Comply with WH&S Employee roles and responsibilities as detailed in the WH&S Manual.
- Assist with cultures as required to ensure sufficient quantities are developed to fulfil weekly orders
About You You are hands-on, eager to learn and thrive in a team-oriented environment. You’re reliable, physically fit and comfortable working outdoors across varying conditions. To be successful in this role, you will have: - Eager to learn and have a hands-on mentality
- Current drivers licence and own transport to get to work
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Comfortable in working outdoors in various temperature ranges and climatic conditions
- Comfortable and able to work with insects
- Physically fit and able to meet the demands of a role that includes manual tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent eyesight for close-range work
- A sound mechanical understanding and high regard for OHS
- A steady, practical and accountable approach to work
