Join Cladding & Roofing, a respected South Australian contractor delivering complex commercial and industrial roofing and cladding solutions. With a team of over a 100 and an experienced internal estimating function, this is an opportunity to step into a key role focused on securing work and producing accurate, well-structured tenders across a busy pipeline.

About the Opportunity

As a Roofing Estimator, you will be part of a team of three estimators and will play a central role in managing tender deadlines, interpreting scope, and producing estimates that reflect the true cost to deliver works. You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure quality handover into the project team once work is secured.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender opportunities and downloading tender documentation
• Interpreting drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope of works
• Measuring quantities and preparing accurate cost estimates aligned to the true execution cost
• Obtaining pricing from approved suppliers and managing supplier input
• Preparing tender letters, including scope, exclusions and assumptions
• Coordinating internal review prior to submission and managing tender close deadlines
• Submitting tenders and liaising with clients on tender status
• Supporting effective handover to the project team (including project files and documentation)
• Assisting with pricing of variations, as required
• Maintaining professional working relationships with suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders

About You

You are detail-driven, commercially minded, and calm under pressure — able to manage multiple tender deadlines while staying across scope and cost detail. You communicate clearly, can negotiate effectively when required, and work well both independently and within a team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a roofing estimator (minimum 3 years preferred; stronger experience highly regarded)
• Experience in commercial and industrial projects
• Strong capability reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and schedules
• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of written tender documentation
• Sound time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
• Strong communication skills and professional stakeholder management
• Computer literacy and confidence working with estimating systems (in-house quoting software used)
• A current driver’s licence
• A practical, steady approach to problem-solving and digesting tender scope under time pressure
