Are you a hands-on marketing professional who wants to do work that truly matters? Do you want to use your skills to honour life, compassion, and connection — while shaping the next chapter of a trusted and respected foundation?

About The Opportunity

Our client, The Mary Potter Foundation, exists to ensure that patients in palliative care and their families feel supported, valued, and cared for. With the support of a compassionate community, the Foundation nurtures meaningful care that embraces respect, comfort, and warmth — creating a lasting impact at the end of life.

This newly refined Marketing & Development Manager role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the Foundation’s marketing, communications, and donor engagement activity end-to-end. Working closely with the Executive Director and a small, dedicated team, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening the Foundation’s voice, deepening supporter relationships, and bringing stories of care and impact to life.

This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for someone who enjoys shaping direction, while also rolling up their sleeves to deliver thoughtful, high-quality work.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the role is broad and varied. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Strategise, develop, and deliver marketing and communications initiatives across digital, social, and print channels

  • Strengthen brand presence and grow meaningful engagement with donors, supporters, and the wider community

  • Create compelling content including impact stories, newsletters, media releases, and donor communications

  • Support and contribute to fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events through creative storytelling and promotion

  • Deliver thoughtful donor stewardship through timely updates, acknowledgements, and impact reporting

  • Work collaboratively across the organisation, contributing as a trusted and adaptable member of a small team

About You

You are a capable, warm, and values-led marketing professional who thrives in a purpose-driven environment. You enjoy working with autonomy, take pride in the quality of your work, and are motivated by making a genuine difference.

You will bring:

  • Alignment with the Foundation’s mission and values, including care, compassion, and empathy

  • Experience leading marketing, communications, fundraising, or a related function

  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills across multiple channels

  • Confidence using social media platforms, email marketing tools, and website CMS

  • The ability to manage priorities end-to-end, balancing strategy with hands-on delivery

  • A collaborative, practical, and solutions-focused approach

Experience in the not-for-profit or community sector will be highly regarded, as will basic design or video capability (e.g. Canva or Adobe tools).

A detailed position description will be provided to candidates shortlisted for interview.
