Bring your financial expertise and leadership skills to support the success and sustainability of the Australia Day Council of SA About the Opportunity As the Corporate Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and operational effectiveness of ADCSA. You will oversee budgeting and financial management for a diverse range of events, programs, and initiatives, combining strategic financial planning and analysis with hands-on delivery and compliance oversight. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Financial Management and Planning- Deliver the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of annual, project, and event budgets using cost-pricing methodology
- Manage liquidity and cashflow to ensure effective allocation of resources and operational continuity
- Prepare three-year rolling financial forecasts and undertake scenario analysis to inform strategic planning
- Analyse financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management reports and year-end financial statements for the CEO and Board
- Partner with managers to interpret results and adjust budgets/costs as required
- Support continuous improvement of internal financial processes and reporting frameworks
Operational Finance Oversight- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial systems and records in Xero, including reconciliations, asset management, and journal entries
- Process fortnightly payroll in Xero for a small team, including PAYG and super payments through the STP system
- Supervise the Merchandise & Finance Officer and oversee efficient delivery of accounts payable and receivable functions
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including ATO, BAS, GST, PAYG, RTW SA, Superannuation, ACNC, and ASIC reporting
- Coordinate audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
- Maintain current and effective financial, administrative, and risk management policies and procedures
- Liaise with IT and service providers to ensure business systems support reliable data and reporting. Ensure cybersecurity integrity is maintained
- Ensure post-event acquittals are rendered and compliant
Merchandise and Revenue Activities- Oversee online merchandise operations, including Shopify sales, order fulfilment, and stock control
- Reconcile merchandise clearing accounts and produce regular sales reports
- Support decisions on product range, pricing, and promotion in line with financial targets. Oversee an annual review of prices to ensure optimal returns
Administration Duties- Maintain relationships with external suppliers
- Landlord and compliance with lease agreement
- Merchandise suppliers for price and quality products
- Technology updates where required
- Review premises suitability to ensure staffing conditions are appropriate
- Review supply contracts are effectively managed for cost and service standard
Governance, Risk, and Compliance- Prepare financial, risk, and WHS reports for presentation to the CEO and Board
- Contribute to audit, insurance, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to relevant legislation and organisational standards
- Support effective internal control systems and documentation to mitigate risk
People and Relationships- Provide financial leadership, support, and advice to managers and project leads
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Merchandise & Finance Officer
- Build positive relationships with members, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and adaptable organisational culture
About You In addition to the above, to be successful in this role, you will have/be: - Must have a Qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance
- Previous experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of cash flow, liquidity management, and financial analysis
- Proven ability to meet monthly and year-end reporting deadlines
- Experience managing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes
- Experience in a small-to-medium enterprise or not-for-profit organisation
- Experience with e-commerce and online sales platforms (e.g., Shopify)
- Understanding of event or program-based financial management
- Familiarity with grants and sponsorship accounting
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to multi-task competing priorities and demands whilst maintaining composure
- Ability to work independently and in a small collaborative team
- Understanding of ACNC and not-for-profit financial reporting obligations
- Hands-on experience with Xero and advanced MS Excel skills
