Lark Business Advisory have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their supportive team!

 

About the Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Taxation & Self-managed Super Fund Manager & CEO/Director, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for a variety of industries. Working in the Melbourne office, you will contribute daily with team members and offshore accountants to maintain seamless operation.

 

As Senior Accountant your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Achieve a productivity target of 80% average over the financial year
  • Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS for various industries from start to finish
  • Review BAS, financial statements, and income returns prepared by offshore accountants, addressing any queries
  • Communicate with clients regarding annual and ongoing work, resolving any issues that arise
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including invoicing and maintaining relationships
  • Collaborate with the Taxation & SMSF Manager to ensure accuracy in your work and respond to review points
  • Liaise with team members and offshore accountants daily to ensure seamless operations
  • Handle matters with the ATO and other statutory authorities as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of client trust
  • Document manage client files electronically into Suitefiles
  • Familiarise yourself with and adhere to company policy directives
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

About You

 

You will enjoy client interaction and be skilled in developing strong working & collaborative relationships with others at all levels of the organisation.

 

To be successful in the role, you will need to:

  • Public Practice Experience is essential
  • Proficient in the preparation of Financial Statements & Income Tax Returns for Companies, Unit Trusts, Family Trusts, Partnerships & Individuals
  • A minimum of 5-years’ experience in Public Practice
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Xero, Suitefiles, Practice Ignition, and Karbon
  • Strong judgement, decision-making capabilities, and initiative
  • Calm and approachable demeanour, with reliability and honesty
  • Active listening skills to effectively understand client needs
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Commitment to client and company confidentiality
