About the Opportunity

 

As the Safety, Quality & Risk Manager you play the lead role in ensuring that the people Cara support receive outstanding client outcomes and services, and that the work environment is safe, meeting all compliance requirements.

 

Reporting to the Head of People, Safety & Quality, this role provides subject matter expertise to the business, including the Executive team and up through to the Board in areas relating to safety, quality, risk and injury management. You are responsible for driving a culture of safety and quality excellence by managing the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of management systems and programmes that are aligned to a people-centric approach and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the NDIS. 

 

You will develop strategies and operational plans that identify and deliver crucial outcomes in your key result areas of:

  • Work Health Safety and Wellbeing
  • Quality and Risk Management
  • Injury Management and Return to Work
  • Process Improvement and Change Management

In addition, you will lead the internal audit regime, ensuring compliance with all necessary accreditation, legislative and regulatory requirements.

Analysis of performance across your portfolio areas, identifying and reporting trends, and developing improvement strategies is an important focus of your role.

Key performance indicators include:

  • Achieving quality, safety, risk and injury management objectives
  • Achieving regulatory and legislative compliance
  • Providing accurate and informative performance reporting
  • Up to date knowledge of best practice and compliance requirements
  • Service delivery is timely, accurate and professional
  • Ensuring a positive impact on workforce culture engagement

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role you will need highly developed leadership skills, ensuring you are well placed to build and lead a high-performance culture.  You have solid experience in a similar role, ideally in a disability organisation which gives you an in-depth knowledge of the Disability Services Act (2006), the NDIS, and other relevant risk and compliance frameworks.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Previous experience auditing management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in injury management
  • In depth knowledge of WHS legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice

A Cert IV in Training & Assessment would be beneficial but experience developing and delivering education and training programmes to diverse groups is a must.
