HomePlace now has an opportunity available for a Business Support Officer join their team About the Opportunity As the Business Support Officer, you will provide coordinated administrative, operational, and human resources support across the organisation, ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality, person-centred services to people with disability Key responsibilities include: Scheduling & Workforce Coordination - Contribute to the Scheduling function to ensure:
- Participants are supported in accordance with their HomePlace service agreement and preferences
- Appropriately skilled and compatible staff are rostered
- Workforce coverage is maintained across all shifts
- Monitor and respond to roster gaps, changes, and unplanned absences
- Support continuous improvement of rostering/scheduling practices and systems
Emergency Response - Actively participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team
- Respond to critical workforce and participant support issues in a timely and effective manner
- Support coordination of urgent staffing solutions to maintain safe service delivery
Human Resources Support - Manage Return to Work processes, including coordination of documentation and stakeholder communication
- Support and participate in HR investigations, ensuring procedural fairness, confidentiality, and compliance
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
Recruitment & Onboarding - Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including:
- Advertising roles
- Screening and interviewing candidates
- Reference checks and compliance checks
- Coordinate and facilitate induction processes for new employees
- Support workforce onboarding to ensure staff are prepared to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
Administration & Systems - Maintain accurate organisational records and systems (including HRIS such as Employment Hero, Learning Management System – _NGO)
- Prepare reports and maintain data integrity
- Provide general administrative support across operations and HR functions
Compliance & Quality - Ensure activities align with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality service delivery
About You We are looking for someone with: - Qualification in business administration, human resources, or equivalent experience
- Understanding of disability services and person-centred practices
- Knowledge of workforce coordination/rostering/scheduling principles
- Basic understanding of HR processes including recruitment and employee relations
- Awareness of NDIS standards and compliance requirements
- Experience in an administrative, HR, or business support role
- Experience in rostering or workforce scheduling (desirable in disability or community services)
- Experience managing recruitment processes end-to-end
- Exposure to HR processes such as return to work or investigations
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond to changing demands
- Proficiency in IT systems including MS Office and HRIS platform
- Current Drivers Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Current vaccination requirements as per HomePlace policy
